This just in. Because of this announcement, we can expect changes to church-owned websites and materials in order to more overtly acknowledge the revealed formal name of the church:
4 For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I have to wonder about the church entities such as those listed below and how their very names could change.
In like manner, expect this website to be brought in line with the announcement referenced above in a manner consistent with how the church handles its own website and materials. Stay tuned for updates.
As anticipated, the choir's name has changed:
After hearing President Nelson reiterate the importance of the formal name of the church, I moved away from the domain name "mormon.michaelwhatcott.com" and have since placed the content formerly found there on this domain name ("michaelwhatcott.com").
I'm not exatly sure when the transition was fully enabled but requests to lds.org now redirect to churchofjesuschrist.org! Also, mormon.org now redirects to comeuntochrist.org and mormonnewsroom.org now redirects to newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org. It took almost a year but the primary internet properties of the church have been brought into conformance with the initial announcement that was given nearly a year ago--no small task I'm sure.
